Alycia Lee
(Uh·L·ee·Sh·uh Li)
Hi, I’m Alycia 👋 I’m a software engineer at Microsoft, where I work on the software stack for Maia (Microsoft’s AI accelerator). I’m also a 3rd year Master’s student in Computer Science, specializing in Artificial Intelligence, at Stanford University in the Honors Cooperative Program (HCP).
Previously, I received my BSc in Computer Science and Business, Economics, and Management (BEM) from the California Institute of Technology in 2021. As an undergrad, I had the opportunity to work under the guidance of Professors Frances Arnold and Yisong Yue on applying Machine Learning (ML) to protein engineering and on exploring distributionally robust learning. I was fortunate to have had incredible mentors at Caltech, namely Kevin Yang, Zachary Wu, and Anqi Liu. I was also a quant research intern at Nand Capital, ML consultant at Flagship Pioneering, and a software engineer intern at Microsoft Edge. I started my full-time career at Microsoft working on client-side deep learning infrastructure for content understanding in the Edge browser.
I have varied interests across the field of ML/AI, one of them being data-centric ML systems. To that end, at Stanford, I recently worked with Brando Miranda and Professor Sanmi Koyejo on evaluating Large Language Model (LLM) pretraining data diversity.
When I’m not at work or studying, you can find me cooking and baking health-minded food, enjoying a stroll through a garden or farmer’s market, and/or listening to a podcast on health optimization and longevity.
